Being a senior this year, I have experienced many different things at St. John Fisher. Some of the greatest memories that I have though have come in the cafeteria. It is interesting because the cafeteria has always been a great place of enjoyment throughout my school years. Everybody always enjoys going to the cafeteria because there are no worries there. I can remember times when my friends and I have sat there upwards of three hours at a time and just talked about anything and everything. Sitting here thinking about this I believe that these little things will be the things that I miss most about college. I don't know why, but for some reason we will just sit there for hours and talk about the craziest stuff. Sometimes we will just sit there and watch people and that sparks a lot of conversations. Whatever it may be I know that in about 2 months I am going to miss it. I cannot believe that all of this will be over pretty soon, it goes by so quick and before you know it, it's gone. Well, hopefully I enjoy these next few months and I am sure that I will be spending a lot of time in the cafeteria. Until the day comes when I must graduate I am just going to have fun with my friends and savor the time that lasts.
For this post I will speak about the brawl that occurred during the fisher and Nazareth game last Saturday. In no circumstances do I believe that this fight should have occurred, and it does look bad for the school. The thing that bothered me though is that one of the teachers here decided to blame the students for being too obnoxious and claimed for us to calm down because "It is only D3." I know that I took offense to this statement and so did a lot of other player. We work just as hard as D1 players do and put in all of the time and effort. I have been doing so for that past 4 years, and it takes up a lot of your time in each and every day. We do all of this for the love of the game, not for the fact that we are going to the pros, because 99% of us probably won't. Pretty much all of us fans were right down on the court and not a single fan ran onto the court. I think that is something to speak of for them because it could have been very easy for any one of us to go out there. The fight was not started by a fan, but by a player coming off the bench. Sports players must deal with being harassed, they have been doing so for years. That is what the crowd wants, and it's not our felt that they got upset. For now though, I see that D3 is just as important as D1 to our society, we all play because we love our sports, and that is all that matters.
Instant messaging has many pros and cons to it. I believe that the pros outweigh the cons though. One good thing about instant messaging is that it is a great way to get in touch with people. You have access to hundreds of people and friends without even picking up a phone and calling them. This is good because a lot of the time you don't have people's numbers and you can just drop them a message. We use it everyday in our lives at school to see what time people are doing things, or just to simply see what they are doing. This is also another pro about the instant messenger, it allows you to leave an away message in order to let people know that you are out and when you will be back. Also, many people can be contacted at once by using the instant messenger with a feature called the chat room. You can invite many friends at once and all that join the chat can talk in this room. As you can see all of these are great things that the instant messenger can do, and the features do not end there. You can even instant message on your phone now and it seems as if the possibilities are becoming endless. File sharing is another good part to instant messaging, and is a very quick way to share files. There is one con that I can think of while using the instant messenger, and that is that it is an easy way to contact viruses. A lot of times you have to be careful who you talk to and what links you click. As long as you are careful though, the instant messenger is a great tool.

I believe that the issue of music downloading and burning has gotten better over the past year. I mean, it can still be done for free, but there are money online music stores that are very good now. Although with many file sharing programs that will get you the music for free, I still don't subscribe to an online music store. Surprisingly the number of people that do subscribe to these stores like itunes and Napster are increasingly growing. There are pros and cons to each file sharing program. The obvious one is that one is free and one is not. I would choose the free one, because I just cannot see paying $.99 for a song. And then after you get the songs, it will cost you money to burn them onto a CD. One good thing about this though is that you will be assured that the quality of the song is perfect. When you download songs off of a free program, the songs will have impurities at times. Some of the time you may even be missing some of the song. This has happened to me plenty of times, and it does get very frustrating. Pretty much it comes down to ethics in the end. If I had a full time job and made a good amount of money, I probably would subscribe to one of these stores because they really are very good. I have used the itunes store and love it, but I just can't see paying for that at this point.

The internet could help me in my personal career in many ways. First of all I feel that the internet is a great resource for information. This could help to find information about certain companies that you are interested in so you can be prepared when you go for an interview. Another important way the internet can help you is through certain websites. For example, Monster.com is a good website that you can submit your resume to, and companies receive your resume that way, and you can possibly get called for an interview. You can also keep in contact with certain employers throught the internet by email. This is not as formal as it should be, but it is still a way to communicate with a possible future employer. So as one can see there are many advantages of the internet that will help you in your intended career. If one utilizes all the utilities that they have on the internet, there is no reason that they will not be prepared for a job that they may be interviewing for.
